It was selected as an Edward seedling by David Sturrock in West Palm Beach and named in honor of Ralph Duncan. A notable part of its history is the speed of its development; by approach grafting the seedling onto a mature stump, Sturrock was able to bring the tree to fruit in just two years. Today, it is recognized as a highly
